Before you go

What to bring and when to arrive

Bring bug spray

Historic Galveston Ghost Tours asks guests to bring mosquito spray. You're outside in the evening, and in the humid months that matters most.

Find the start and get there early

Each company meets in a different place: the gazebo at 24th and Sealy, the Railroad Museum steps, Trinity Episcopal Church, 4210 Avenue K or Pier 21. The exact spot is in your booking confirmation. Most walks want you there 10 to 15 minutes early, and check-in for the harbor boat opens 30 minutes before.

Kids and scary stories

Even the family walks cover death, storms and disease. Ghost City's 16+ tour has graphic historical violence and adult language. The pub crawls are 21+, and you pay for drinks separately.

Parking downtown

Paid parking ends at 6 pm, and most evening tours start later. Details in how parking works on the Strand.
