Galveston cruise terminals

The port has four terminals along Harborside Drive, and each has its own cruise lines, entrance and parking lots. Check which one your ship uses before you set off, then put that terminal's address in your GPS.

The short answer

Which terminal your ship uses

Your terminal is named in your cruise line's documents. The port asks you to confirm it before you drive, because the signs send each terminal's traffic to its own entrance. Each card gives the lines' usual terminal. Some sailings move, and Carnival uses both 25 and 28, so look up your date on the port's cruise schedule before you book parking. The lots are on the port's parking map, and every ship is listed in cruises from Galveston 2026–27.

Terminal 25

This used to be Terminal 1. It's mostly Carnival's: Breeze (mostly until May 22, 2027, with some later sailings), Jubilee, Miracle and, from May 2027, Horizon, followed by Spirit and Sunshine from autumn 2027. The port calendar also puts a few Carnival Dream sailings here, for example on February 13, 2027. Several lots are right across the street.

It handles Disney Magic (until April 2027 and again from November 2027), Carnival Dream until May 2027, most of Carnival Breeze's 7-day trips from late May 2027, and Margaritaville at Sea from October 2027. The calendar also lists a few one-off Carnival Miracle and Horizon sailings here, on March 5 and May 13, 2027. You can walk from the Express Lot; the economy lots have free shuttles.

Getting here

Getting to the terminal

From the airport

Hobby (HOU) is about 45 minutes away and Bush Intercontinental (IAH) about 1.5 hours. For shuttle, cruise line and taxi prices, see airport to cruise port.

Rental car

If you only need a car on the island, drop it off in Galveston before you sail and take a short ride to the terminal. That can cost less than parking for the whole cruise. For a January day, Expedia showed just one rental company in Galveston, Enterprise, about 2.6 miles from the city center. Its cheapest cars cost just under $100 for the day with taxes and fees.

Hotel shuttles

Some hotels drive you to the ship and keep your car while you sail. The hotels near the cruise port page lists them with their prices.

Mobility scooter for the cruise

If the walk through the terminal and around the ship is hard going, rent a travel scooter for the whole trip. Gulf Coast Mobility delivers it to the cruise terminal before boarding and picks it up again, free anywhere on Galveston Island. Three days cost $175 plus tax, and longer rentals get a lower daily rate.

On the day

Drop-off and parking at the port

These rules for the port's own lots come from its arrival guide and FAQ. The price depends on your ship and date and appears when you book. How the port's lots compare with private ones: cruise parking compared.

Lots open
Usually at 9 am on sailing days, later if the ship comes back late. Boarding is separate: get to the terminal in the arrival window your cruise line gives you and be on board by its final boarding time
Luggage
Drop your bags at the terminal first, then park. Porters help at the terminal and when you come back
Shuttles
Free from lots too far to walk, about every 5 to 7 minutes. Some shuttles are ADA-equipped
Accessible parking
You can't reserve ADA spaces, including van-accessible ones. In every lot they go to whoever arrives first. For help from check-in onto the ship, ask your cruise line; the port doesn't arrange it
Paying
Credit cards only. Reserve ahead, because drive-ups get in only if there's space left
Booking window
You can reserve about 18 months before sailing and cancel free up to 24 hours before
Big vehicles
Spaces are 9 × 19 ft and the SMP garage has 6 ft 8 in clearance. RVs park in the economy lots and sometimes need two spaces
Rideshare
Uber and Lyft both serve the port. The island trolley has no stop at the terminals
Help
Call the port's cruise parking team on 409-766-6163, daily from 8 am to 5 pm
