Dolphins from the ferry

The Galveston–Port Bolivar ferry costs nothing, runs around the clock and takes about 20 minutes to cross. TxDOT names dolphins among what you may see from the deck. There's no guide on board, and sightings aren't guaranteed.

Parking, boarding on foot and wait times are in the ferry guide, and the harbor museums in things to do in Galveston. If you stay downtown, you can walk to all three piers; see the Strand guide.
