Carnival cruises from Galveston

This winter Carnival has four ships in Galveston, more than any other line: Breeze, Jubilee, Miracle and Dream. In May 2027 Miracle and Dream leave and Carnival Horizon arrives. You can sail for four nights to Cozumel or for two weeks around the Caribbean, all from Terminals 25 and 28, with parking lots and hotels within walking distance.

The short answer

Carnival ships in Galveston

Breeze and Jubilee sail all year. When Horizon arrives in May 2027, Miracle and Dream leave. Spirit follows in autumn 2027, Sunshine in winter 2027–28 and the new Carnival Tropicale from April 2028. Nearly every sailing leaves from Terminal 25. Dream and, from late May 2027, Breeze's 7-day trips use Terminal 28, and the port calendar also lists Horizon's May 13, 2027 departure there.

Departures and terminals come from the Port of Galveston cruise schedule for November 2026 to October 2027 (for Spirit and Sunshine, from its listing to December 2027). Trips and seasons come from Carnival's cruise search. We read both on October 29, 2026. Tropicale isn't in the port's calendar yet. The sailings figure counts entries in the port's calendar, which isn't the same as cruises you can book. Ships and dates can change.

Ships arriving and leaving

  • In spring 2027, Carnival Miracle leaves on May 6 with a one-way crossing to Lisbon. Carnival Dream's last round trip runs May 8 to 15, and from May 16 the ship sails from New Orleans. Announced July 2026

Why Carnival cancelled some Galveston sailings

Carnival isn't leaving Galveston. It is adding ships here: Horizon in May 2027, Spirit and Sunshine in late 2027 and the new Carnival Tropicale in April 2028. What it did cancel are nine Carnival Jubilee sailings in late 2027: August 15, 21 and 29, September 12, 18 and 26, November 27, and December 5 and 11.

Carnival cited "itinerary changes". Guests booked on those dates were offered other sailings or a refund; on every other date, Jubilee keeps its 6- and 8-day trips. Carnival tells affected guests by email or through their travel agent. If you're not sure, look up your booking in Manage My Cruise on Carnival's site.

Where they go

Itineraries by length

A "5-day" Carnival cruise has five nights, for example from Monday afternoon to Saturday morning or from Saturday to Thursday. Most ships leave at 3:30 pm (4 to 4:30 pm on 10- to 14-day trips) and get back at 8 am.

A few 6- and 8-day trips go to other ports, for example Belize and Cozumel. The longer trips are Breeze's 14-day Eastern Caribbean cruise on October 16, 2027, 12- and 14-day Southern Caribbean cruises in the winters of 2028 and 2029, and Carnival Miracle's one-way 14-day crossing to Lisbon on May 6, 2027.

Taxes and port fees
Carnival's itinerary pages say the prices above include them
Included
Your cabin, meals in the main dining room (at set times or with 'Your Time' seating) and lunch on the Lido Deck on boarding day
Extra
Drinks and specialty restaurants, both with a 20% service charge. The soda package costs $14.38 a day for adults and Wi-Fi from $20.40 a day if you book ahead. Shore excursions cost extra too
Gratuities
$17 a day for every guest aged 2 and over in a standard cabin, $19 in a suite. Pay ahead or have it added to your onboard account. For two adults on a 5-day cruise that's $170

Carnival recommends a passport book valid for six months after the trip. On a round trip you can also use a passport card, an enhanced driver's license, or a birth certificate with government photo ID. A mobile ID won't do
Panama ports
On the 10-day Panama Canal trips you can go ashore in Panama only with a passport book valid for six months after the trip. With any other document you stay on board
The Lisbon crossing
Carnival Miracle's May 6, 2027 trip ends in Europe and isn't a round trip, so bring a passport book
Arrival time
Finish Carnival's Online Check-in by midnight Eastern time before you sail and pick an arrival appointment. Everyone in your cabin should be at the terminal at that time. Porters take bags until 2 hours before departure, and you have to be on board by the Final Boarding time on your boarding pass

Parking at Terminals 25 and 28

The two terminals stand side by side on Harborside Drive, and your Carnival documents say which one you need. At the port, signs send each terminal's traffic to its own entrance. On most sailing days the port's lots open at 9 am, and you can drop your bags at the terminal before you park.
