New ship?

Is Galveston getting a new Disney ship?

Not as far as Disney has announced. Its published schedules up to April 2028 name only the Disney Magic for Galveston, and only for the winter.

The rumor goes back to May 2025, when the port's director said Disney would sail from Galveston all year from 2027, with a larger ship. Disney didn't comment. In January 2026 Cruise Industry News wrote that Disney would go year-round in 2028. Officially, Disney sails from Galveston in winter, with the Disney Magic.

Galveston is Disney's only cruise port in Texas and on the Gulf. The other home ports for 2027–28 are New York, San Juan, Port Canaveral, Fort Lauderdale, San Diego and Singapore.
